Distance Goal Support
Distance Goal is a simple, privacy-first distance goal tracker for Android. You set a distance goal, log your kilometres manually — or let the app read them from Health Connect if you choose — and the app shows how far you have left. If you need help, you'll find answers below — or just email us.

support@bluetorch.co.ukDelete your data
Distance Goal, by Bluetorch Consulting Ltd, is built so that you can delete your data yourself, completely, at any time — no request forms and no waiting.
Data on your phone
Your goals, distance entries and settings live only on your device. Delete individual entries or goals inside the app, or remove everything at once from your device settings (Settings → Apps → Distance Goal → Storage → Clear data) or by uninstalling the app. This deletes it completely — we do not hold a copy.
Data on our server — buddy groups only
Nothing is stored on our server unless you join a buddy group. If you have, the server holds — for each group you are in — a group and member identifier, and your encrypted progress figures, which include the name the app generated for you (you never type one). The privacy policy lists the exact fields. To delete them, open the group in the app and tap “Leave group”: your data for that group is deleted from the server immediately. Leave each group you are in to delete everything.
Automatic deletion after 60 days
Every buddy group is deleted from the server automatically 60 days after the last time anyone in that group opened the app. We keep nothing indefinitely: once a group is deleted — by expiry or because everyone left — no data from it is kept.
No account — deletion is in your hands
Distance Goal has no accounts, sign-ups or logins, so we have no way to look up which data is yours: deletion by email request is not possible, and the in-app steps above are the way to delete. If you have any questions or something does not work, email support@bluetorch.co.uk and we will help.
Frequently asked questions
Does Distance Goal use GPS?
No. Distance Goal does not use GPS or track your location. You either type in the distance you have covered, or — if you choose to turn it on — the app reads distance figures from Health Connect. It never records a route.
Does Distance Goal connect to Google Fit or Health Connect?
Only if you turn it on. Health Connect support is off by default and read-only: the app reads distance (and the activity type of a workout) to fill in your progress. We never receive any of it. If you are in a buddy group, the app asks you separately about each app that records distance — naming it — before any of that distance counts toward what your group sees; say no, or never be asked, and it stays on your phone. Even when you do agree, only a distance total is shared: never a workout, an activity type, a route or a time of day. There is no connection to Google Fit, Apple Health, Fitbit, Strava or similar platforms.
Where is my data stored?
Your goals, entries and settings are stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to any server unless you choose to join a buddy group — then a small set of progress figures is sent to our relay server, encrypted on your phone first so that we cannot read them. The privacy policy lists exactly what is sent.
How do I delete my data?
See the “Delete your data” section above. In short: everything on your phone can be deleted in the app or by clearing the app's data, and if you use buddy groups, leaving a group deletes your data from our server immediately. Any group is deleted automatically 60 days after the last time anyone in it opened the app.
Can I use cycling and walking in the same goal?
Yes, you can log different activity types — walking, cycling, running, or other — against the same distance goal. They all count towards the same total.
Is Distance Goal free?
Yes — the core app is free and always will be. In future we may add optional ways to support development, such as tips, or optional premium features (for example, tools for personal trainers to track goals on behalf of their clients), but the core goal-tracking app will always be free.
